The artist formerly known as Lilith Ember

My name is Tashi Palmo, and I am the mind behind the musings of Lilith Ember.

When I created this blog back in 2018, I had no idea my life would one day lead me to living my dream of being a full-time artist and writer. It was a place where I could share a vulnerable and deep side of myself behind the guise of a strong, sexy person who was fearless about their vulnerability.

In truth, I’ve always been afraid of showing the world who I really am. Existing behind a pseudonym grants all sorts of perks, including, but not limited to, not actually feeling like people are seeing the real me. And, for a time, that was enough.

Who I am, in truth, is a sensitive and heartfelt person with a passion for social justice, compassion, and kindness. My upbringing was filled with neglect and abuse, which left the types of scars I’m only now starting to heal. As a result, I built up layer after layer of defence mechanisms and poor coping skills, all in the hopes of diminishing some of the pain and anguish I felt around being alive. One of those layers was expressing some of it in poetry. I have been writing poems since I was 8 or 9 (you can imagine how terrible those were!), and my passion for this form of artistic expression has never ceased.

I am also a visual artist and am grateful to currently live and play on Unceded Snuneymuxh territory off the coast of Vancouver Island, where I can dedicate myself to my passions of community support, artistic expression, and sustainable farming practices.
